New building regulations require that by 2030, all new buildings, infrastructure and renovations will have at least 40% less embodied carbon with significant upfront carbon reduction, and all new buildings must be net zero operational carbon.  CO2 emissions from new build homes must be around 30% lower than current standards and emissions from other new builds, including offices and commercial buildings, must be reduced.

The Air Quality Standards Regulations 2010 is aimed at reducing harmful air pollutants and protecting public health and the environment.
