The Economic Alternative to Noxyde Plus

 

Degradation of Metal Roofs

Metal roofing systems are common in commercial buildings, providing protection to factories, distribution centres, warehouses and many other areas. Metal roofing is normally prefabricated using galvanised steel sheets, coated with plastisol, acrylics or pvdf coatings to provide long term decoration and protection against the elements.

Over time these coating systems will eventually deteriorate leading to blistering and detachment of the coating, once this occurs the problems accelerate under the paint film as the corrosion spreads rapidly causing metal loss and ultimately water ingress. Once the roof is breached, production can be disrupted, valuable assets damaged and the workplace may become unsafe for your employees.

Problems with Noxyde Paint?

This is an elastomeric water proofing paint designed to protect metal roofs against the elements, it has inbuilt elasticity providing great flexibility, so the paint doesn't crack as the roof panels expand and contract. It is used as a maintenance paint for repairing metal roofs.

However, Noxyde Paint is only available in a limited number of colours so it can be hard to colour   co-ordinate with your cladding, façade, building and the local environment. The raw materials to make this paint have increased significantly and the supply chain has been disrupted due to Brexit, creating shortages and long lead times on projects. Site delays can result in significant on-site costs in relation to scaffolding and access, penalty clauses may also be triggered.

Noxyde Paint is now being replaced with Noxyde Plus in order to improve its dry fall properties which is an essential feature when painting large surface areas. This is adding greater uncertainty, increased costs and does not address the issues in relation to supply chain and limited colour choice.

 

The Alternative to Noxyde
