Jotun Penguard Primer Marine Epoxy Underwater Primer

Jotun Penguard Primer a two pack fast drying epoxy primer for multisurfaces. It is designed for new construction where fast dry to handle times are required. It is suitable for application to steel, stainless and galvanised steel, concrete and thermally sprayed zinc substrates. It is recommended for use in harsh marine environments including immersed conditions. It is a polyamide cured, high molecular weight epoxy coating with excellent water and chemical resistance. Suitable for structural steel and piping exposed to very high corrosive and immersed environments. Recommended for maine and offshore environments, refineries, power plants, bridges and minining equipment. Available in red and grey matt finish in 5lt and 20lt packs for free delivery throughout the UK.

Surface Preparation.

Carbon Steel: Minimum St 2 , Recommended Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5. (ISO 8501-1)

Coated Surfaces: Ensure the existing coat is intact, compatible, dry and free from oil grease and other contaminants.

Jotun Penguard Primer is a fast drying two pack, polyamide cured high molecular weight epoxy primer and is certified not to spread surface flame, it may be used as a primer in an Intumescent paint system. It is a high performance multisurface prime suitable for various substrates. Jotun Penguard Primer  can be applied by Airless spray, Conventional spray or brush. It is resistant to continuous temperatures of up to 120°C

Penguard Primer is a two pack epoxy matt suitable for use in atmospheric and immersed environments as a primer in a multicoat system. It can be applied direct to carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, zinc metal spray, GRP, concrete and shop primed steel. It is recommended for offshore environments, marine hulls and topside, superstructures, containers, structural steel, building products, construction and agricultural equipment. It can be applied up to 60 microns in a single coat by airless spray, two coats may be required to achieve the recommended DFT by brush.
