Following the COP27 conference in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, The Big 5 Construction show opened its doors on Dec 5th at the Dubai World Trade Centre and is set to launch its own initiative to discuss the construction sectors impact on the environment.

Global and regional sustainability leaders, disrupters, innovators and ESG governance advisors will attend the inaugural Global Construction Impact Summit on Dec 7th to explore how the industry can collaborate to meet net zero targets by 2050.

More than 55,000 visitors from 150 countries will attend the exhibition including a strong innovative UK Trade delegation led by the Department of International Trade. The UKs construction professionals, architects and engineers are leading the world in their ability to design and adapt to the changing environment, delivering sustainable tailored solutions into the future.

Clean growth is a major component of the UK propositions, environmentally compliant products to create carbon neutral buildings for a sustainable future and improved wellbeing.

 

Global Construction Impact Summit at the Big 5

According to the recent World Green Building Council beyond buildings report, the macro urban built environment is responsible for 75% of annual global greenhouse emissions with buildings alone accounting for 37%. The WGBC target for the construction sector is to achieve 40% less embodied carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving 100% net zero emissions by 2050. A significant step forward will be to drive the shift from high emission products to near zero emission products. The Global Construction Impact Summit will create a green pathway for the region, drive action and ambition ahead of COP28 which will be hosted in Dubai.

 

 

AVACE on Big 5 Trade Mission to Dubai

AVACE has been invited to join the UK Trade Mission to the Big 5 in Dubai, all companies will be involved in direct engagement with 1:1 meet the buyer meetings and at networking events hosted by the British Embassy and the British Business Group. Exports are a critical part of the UKs economy,  the strategy is to reach £1 trillion of annual exports by the mid-2030s.
