Little Greene is the name of a tiny 18th Century hamlet to the east of Manchester, records dating from 1773 shows a small company operating on the bank of the rivers Irk and Irwell, called The Little Greene Dye Works. Here its entrepreneurial owner, Joshua Rowlands supplied pigments and dyes to local weaving mills as Manchester was central to the boom in the cotton trade during the Industrial Revolution. The new headquarters and development laboratories of Little Green are based close to this very same site. Little Greene Paint and Paper follows 300 years of decorative history throughout the key periods of Interior design since the 17th Century. Little Greene has collaborated with the National Trust, who look after some of the finest and most significant historic properties in Great Britain with over 350 historic houses and period properties. Little Greene paints and wallpapers are amongst the highest quality available. New Colour Consultancy and Showroom
A state-of-the-art colour consultancy showroom has now been opened by AVACE at its production facility in Brierley Hill. The showroom exhibits beautiful wallpaper designs from the past which have been redrawn, injecting subtle combinations of Little Greenes best loved colours. A variety of print processes are used to create an eclectic, yet easy to use, range of papers that seamlessly transcends old and new.
Choosing colours is a process that begins with our colour cards, the Colours of England and Colour Scales you can order your complimentary cards on our website. Colours of England is a collection of 128 timeless, unique and distinct colours including authentic shades from the key periods in our architectural history. Colour Scales are based on six tonal families. Colours in each column produce harmonious schemes, colours across the card create schemes with balanced contrast. Lighter and darker tones, designed to help colour coordinate individual shades within similar and contrasting colours, making colour combinations as easy as possible.
The showroom displays all Little Greene Colours in varying light sources with a colour album containing larger samples of each of the colours. It is an essential tool for Interior Designers and home decorators alike.
The colours are demonstrated online in eight bespoke Colour Palettes. Each colour palette contains similar and contrasting colour combinations based on Colour Scales. Each colour can be selected to view information on product availability and recommended colour combinations with other colours and wallpapers. A range of pack sizes including 60ml, 250ml, 1 Lt, 2.5 Lt and 5 Lt can be produced on the new facility. Absolute Matt
A beautiful sublime chalky dead matt finish of just 3% which exudes character. It produces an easy clean finish which is wipeable with a damp cloth or moist sponge. An ideal finish for a busy family home.
It is fast drying, recommended for many surfaces including walls, ceilings, plaster and lining paper. An Odourless, Child Safe paint complying with toy paint regulations EN 71-3:2019 making it an ideal choice for nurseries and bedrooms. Environmentally compliant with zero VOCs.
A classic finish making it an ideal choice for feature walls or as an all over coating in bedrooms, studies, living and dining rooms. Available in the full Little Greene Colour palette. It appears especially rich and sumptuous in darker tones such as Basalt, Obsidian Green and Hicks Blue in an all over colour scheme for maximum impact.
Intelligent Paints
Intelligent Matt is a hard wearing, quick drying washable finish designed for walls in high traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, nurseries and open plan living spaces. Available in all Little Greene colours, it is 15 times more durable than ordinary matt emulsions. An odourless , Stain Resistant, Child Safe Environmentally compliant paint. With a 5% Hallmark matt finish, it combines beautiful deep sumptuous colour with a practical washable finish for the modern family home. Intelligent Eggshell is a hard wearing, quick drying scrubbable finish designed for interior woodwork and walls. Ideal for radiators, panelling, kitchen cupboards and doors in the splash zone. Available in all Little Greene colours in a low sheen elegant finish. An odourless , Stain Resistant, Child Safe, Environmentally compliant paint. Where condensation may be a problem in bathrooms and kitchens, this 15% Eggshell finish offers a scrubbable easy clean finish.
Intelligent Satinwood is a tough hard wearing, quick drying washable finish designed for interior woodwork. It is recommended on panelling, kitchen cupboards and doors in the splash zone. Available in all Little Greene colours in a 30% satin elegant finish. An Odourless , Stain Resistant, Child Safe, Environmentally compliant paint. It has been specially formulated to withstand the day-to-day knocks experienced by kitchen cupboards. A resilient wood paint in an extensive range of high design colours for upcycling your kitchen.
Intelligent Floor Paint is a superb choice for wooden or concrete floors requiring a high design finish coordinated to your walls & ceilings. A hard wearing, quick drying, washable finish with low odour. No additional primers are required. Available in all Little Greene Colours in a mid-sheen 40% finish. Easy to apply and surface dry in 1-2 hours this Intelligent Floor paint is convenient to use around your home and workspaces with minimal disruption to modern family life.
Intelligent Masonry is ideal to bring beautiful colour to any exterior brick, stone or rendered wall. Providing 15 years protection in an exterior environment. It inhibits mould and algal growth. An exterior durable , quick drying masonry paint available in most Little Greene Colours in a 5% matt finish. Odourless and Environmentally compliant it will bring your exterior living spaces to life with vibrant and subtle colours which can be coordinated with your interior designs.
