Look no further for interior design inspirations, Little Greene Giallo 337 has been selected as the colour of the year at the Homes and Gardens Design Awards 2022. Greens were the leading colours in 2021, but it has now been superseded by a beautiful softer yellow tone, recommended to help you stay on trend with the latest colours for your home. Little Greene's Colour of the Year

Giallo roomGiallo 337 has been awarded Colour of the Year at the Homes & Gardens Design Awards 2022. This is a sunny, mid-tone yellow that is in celebration of the Italian influence on British architecture and interior design over the last 400 years.

This colour is a charming highlight or accent colour, it works best when it is used in a large space such as a dining room or living room. Giallo adds a sense of warmth that always feels bright and inviting, it can be combined with a variety of different colours such as Middle Buff for a moody and dramatic look, or with lighter shades like Silent White Pale and Portland Stone for a more traditional brighter lighter look.

Giallo, Middle Buff, Portland Stone and all the Little Greene Colours of England are available in Absolute Matt and Intelligent Matt Emulsion.

Absolute Matt is recommended for your walls, ceilings and plasterwork in bedrooms, living or dining rooms. It is the most popular matt emulsion that provides a beautiful, chalky matt finish of just 3%. A water-based emulsion which has been specially formulated on natural ingredients, it contains only trace VOC'S, making it environmentally compliant but also child safe. Absolute Matt is easy to apply, wipeable and breathable.

Intelligent Matt is a hard wearing and quick drying washable finish making it perfect for walls in your high traffic areas, such as hallways, kitchens and nurseries. It provides a 5% hallmark matt finish and is 15 times more durable than ordinary matt emulsions. Like Absolute Matt, this finish is also environmentally friendly and child safe.

Little Greene Leads Dulux Follows

Stone Pale Cool roomDulux has followed Little Greene by naming there colour of 2022, 'Wild Wonder', which is a pale-yellow paint that is described as a soft gold with hints of green.

Their colour is similar to Little Greenes Stone Pale Cool which is the palest variant of the Stone Coll family. It is a cool powdery colour based on Portland or Bath stone from the 1730s. A pale yellow it works well in a bedroom giving the room a soft appearance and making the room more spacious. This shade also works beautifully with Flint and White Lead within a bedroom giving a clean, fresh vibe that adds contrast and life to Stone Pale Cool.

Stone Pale Cool also combines well with Olive Colour bringing a liveliness to your living space and make the room dramatic and eye-catching. Alternatively pair it along with Stone Dark Warm to convey a sense of sophistication and elegance.

 

 

 

 

Pantone Colour of 2022

Pantone is a colour range used by graphic designers and retail brand managers mainly for shopfronts, signage and point of sale displays. This range is less decorative and has been developed to gain attention at point of sale.

It's interesting to see Pantone has gone to the opposite spectrum of the colour wheel for their colour of the year which is called 'Digital Lavender'. This colour can be matched to Little Greenes Hortense which is a gentle lilac tone with a soft hint of grey, a shade such as this works best within a kids room as it is basically a neutral shade that is suitable for both boys and girls and provides the space with a calm and comforting feeling. It can be paired with whites such as Down and Flint to add even more of a relaxing and soothing feeling to the room.

You can also pair Hortense with Adventurer  bringing out the warmth within Hortense using the combination to make a bold impactful statement, when paired with Silt it can add warmth and relaxation to your home.

When decorating children's bedrooms or nurseries always use Little Greene paint on walls and ceilings, Intelligent Matt is washable and Absolute Matt stylish and both products have been certified child safe under EN 71-3:2019. For painting woodwork. It is advised you use Intelligent Satinwood (30%) or Intelligent Eggshell (15%) washable, durable and child safe paints for skirting, doors and windowsills.
