Your Questions Answered on Demidekk Cleantech

What is the Best Exterior Wood Paint for Log Cabins and Garden Rooms?

Demidekk Cleantech is the Best Exterior Wood paint, developed in Norway to withstand extreme climate changes. From sub zero winter icy conditions to high UV degradation in Summer. Now available for free delivery throughout the UK, tinted and mixed by AVACE to your chosen colour.

Why has Demidekk Ultimate been replaced by Demidekk Cleantech?

You may be familiar with Demidekk Ultimate, an extremely durable exterior wood paint. In April it was superseded by Demidekk Cleantech, which has enhanced exterior durability with excellent colour and gloss retention , particularly on darker colours. It also has low dirt pick up and mould resistance, resulting in an easy clean finish. Application properties and drying times are comparable.

Does Demidekk Cleantech need a primer?

Demidekk Ultimate has a rich consistency which is easy to apply, drying fast and obtains water resistance very quickly. It can be applied direct to wood without a primer and is recommended on previously stained or previously painted exterior surfaces. VISIR Clear water repellent primer can be brushed into the grain of the wood prior to Demidekk as an optional treatment for increased water resistance.

Can Demidekk Cleantech be applied over Demidekk Ultimate?

Yes the two products are both based on Alkyd Modified Acrylic (AMA) technology developed in Norway, tinted and mixed by AVACE in the UK. Recommended on exterior wood in extreme and harsh environments. Demidekk Cleantech can be applied over Demidekk Ultimate they are fully compatible.

Is Demidekk Cleantech available in the same colours?

The Demidekk range has a colourful history, many of the original Butinox colours and nearly all the Demidekk Ultimate colours are still available in Demidekk Cleantech. Cleantech is also available in British Standard, NCS and RAL Colours and even many Dulux, Farrow & Ball colours.

How Quickly can you Apply Demidekk Cleantech?

Demidekk Cleantech can be applied by spray, brush or roller directly onto wood. The new improved Cleantech formulation is faster drying, touch dry in 30 mins at 23°C and can be overcoated in 2 hours.

Which is the Most Environmentally Compliant Exterior Wood Paint?

Demidekk Cleantech is recognized by Miljømerking Norge, it conforms with the demands of the environmental label Svanen (Swan 2097 0003). It is a water-based high performance exterior wood paint with low VOCs, and contributes to Green Building Standard credits by meeting BREEAM® International (2021).

What is the best colour for a Garden Room?

Soft greys, greens and blues are always popular options that mix well with the natural colours of the garden. They look particularly good in winter when a burst of colour is always welcome. Whatever your colour selection, Demidekk Cleantech is available in an extensive choice from the “Beautiful Lasting Colours Brochure” or the British Standard and RAL colour ranges.

Your Questions Answered on Demidekk Terrace Glaze for Beautiful Patios

We all dream of a beautiful patio, a second living room where friends and family gather before meals or to simply enjoy drinks, relaxing in the outdoors. Outdoor spaces are decorated to the same high standard as our interior designs, Demidekk Terrasslasyr is designed to create beautiful colour combinations and long term protection for decking and furniture.

What is the difference between a Terrace Glaze, Stain and Demidekk Cleantech?

Demidekk Terrasslasyr developed for Scandinavian climates is a Terrace Glaze, it penetrates wood deeply to highlight the grain, intensify wood tones and change appearance. It contains preservatives such as anti-fungal agents, UV stabilisers and pigments to provide over three years of protection in a single coat. It is abrasion resistant and resists mechanical damage.

Common low cost stains are formulated to a price, with low volume solids and high water content they simply add colour to the wood. They generally fade quicker and require re-staining each year, Without regular re-staining the timber will discolour, lose strength, absorb moisture, blacken due to fungal growth, crack, warp then rot.

Demidekk Cleantech is a superior exterior wood paint, it protects timber from the elements, forming a hard layer over the surface and offers protection from mechanical impact and abrasion. It also provides long term weather resistance and has excellent colour and gloss retention when exposed to sunlight. Demidekk Cleantech will protect wood for up to 12 years and suppress mould and fungal growth. It is best used on garden rooms, log cabins, fencing and cladding.

What is the coverage of Demidekk Terrace Glaze?

Demidekk Terrasslasyr covers 10m2/lt, just one coat will last over 3 years. It should be brushed into the grain of the wood and any surplus material at the surface should be brushed out. Saving on materials, labour and repeated annual maintenance.

What is the best surface preparation for Decking and Patios?

Demidekk Terrasslasyr can be applied direct to new or impregnated wood. If the decking has been previously stained or has deteriorated with mould or algae, it can be restored using Demidekk Terrassfix prioer to applying Terrasslasyr.

Your Questions Answered on Demidekk Infinity for Windows and Doors.

What is the difference between Demidekk Infinity and Cleantech?

Demidekk Infinity has been especially adapted for windows and doors which are subject to increased abrasion and mechanical damage. Both are environmentally compliant waterbased Alkyd Modified Acrylic (AMA) Technology, Infinity has a higher semigloss finish (40-50%) which is rain resistant in an hour. In view of the small surface areas to be painted it is not available in 10lt packs.

Is Demidekk Infinity available in the same colours as DemiDekk Cleantech?

Both products are available in the Jotun ‘Beautiful Lasting Colours’ range, RAL, British Standard and most NCS colours. The higher semigloss finish of Demidekk Infinity has a slight affect on appearance compared to the matt finish of Cleantech.
