Teamac Hull Blacking is a High Quality, Bitumen based coating for Hulls. Suitable for Narrowboats, Cruisers and Inland Waterway Vessels. It can be applied to suitably prepared wood, steel and cast iron to provide a water resistant anticorrosion coating. It has good abrasion and impact resistance for steel hulls. It is an economical primer finish for below the waterline, no primers required. Hull Blacking should be applied by brush or roller. It provides a jet Black off gloss, durable and UV resistant finish to help protect and enhance your boat.
It can be applied to suitably prepared wood, steel and cast iron. It can be used without a primer or undercoat and can only be overcoated with another bitumen based product at any time. Available in 5lt and 20lt containers for free delivery throughout the UK.

Surface Preparation.
Carbon Steel: Minimum St 2 , Recommended Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5. (ISO 8501-1)
Coated Surfaces: Ensure the existing coat is intact, compatible, dry and free from oil grease and other contaminants.

Teamac Hull Blacking is a high quality, bitumen based coating for hulls. It is suitable for narrowboats, cruisers and any inland waterway. It can be applied to suitably prepared wood, steel and cast iron to provide waterproof, weatherproof and corrosion resistance finish. It can be used without a primer and can only be over-coated with another bitumen based product.
This coating should be applied by brush or roller to a wet film thickness of 80 microns producing a dry film thickness of 40 microns. It is touch dry in 3 hours at a temperature of 20°C and can be overcoated in 12 hrs..
Make sure that you are only overcoating with itself or another approved bitumen based product as overcoating with conventional solvent based paints will result in black bleeding though.
