Resist 86 – Two Pack Inorganic Zinc Silicate Primer

Resist 86 a high build fast drying two pack inorganic zinc silicate primer for steel with very high zinc content conforming to the requirements of SSPC paint 20, level 1. It provides excellent corrosion resistance on steel and is heat resistant up to 540c. It is suitable as a primer for structural steel and pioping in aggressive C5-M marine environments and is prequalified for use in Norsok M-501, Rev 5, system 1. It has fast drying and handling properties for increased productivity. Resist 86 has high volume solids and high coverage rates.

Application Guide

Carbon Steel: Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5. (ISO 8501-1)

Apply one full coat by airless spray 50-90 microns. Allow 4hrs before overcoating.

Apply a Tiecoat of Penguard 100 to seal the surface prior to overcoating with high build epoxies.
