Penguard Primer – Marine Epoxy Underwater Primer

Penguard Primer is a fast drying two pack Epoxy Primer for Multi surfaces , suitable for use Underwater and Topside. It can be applied to a range of surfaces including steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, stainless steel , concrete and thermally sprayed zinc substrates. Ideal as a primer on boats, marine infrastructure and industrial fabrications. It is as high molecular weight epoxy exhibiting excellent durability, water and corrosion resistance. It can be overcoated with Hardtop Polyurethanes in exposed environments for long term colour and protection. Below the waterline on boats it can be overcoated with Vinyguard Silvergrey 88 as a tiecoat prior to applying antifouling.

Carbon Steel: Minimum St 2 , Recommended Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5. (ISO 8501-1)

Coated Surfaces: Ensure the existing coat is intact, compatible, dry and free from oil grease and other contaminants.
