Jotun Pilot QD – Fast Air Drying Zinc Phosphate Primer

Pilot QD a fast air drying zinc phosphate High Build Primer for Steel. It is certified for use as a fire approved primer for Steelmaster Intumescent Paints. It has a low flame spread certificate. It is designed for new construction and maintenance of steel where rapid drying, overcoating and handling properties are critical factors. It is an economic anticorrosion primer with high volume solids and high coverage rates.

Application Guide

Carbon Steel: Minimum St 2 , Recommended Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2.5. (ISO 8501-1)

Aluminium: As a minimum the surface shall be clean dry and have a rough dull profile. It is recommended to lightly sweep blast using non metallic abrasives leaving a clean, rough dull surface.

Apply one coat of Pilot QD to a dry film thickness of 40-125 microns. Overcoat after 90 mins.
