Breathable paints are particularly useful in rooms with fluctuating moisture, because they help walls dry quickly after cooking, bathing or periods of high humidity. On appropriate substrates, Grafclean can reduce condensation‑related issues and support a more stable indoor microclimate in kitchens, bathrooms, cellars and utility rooms. It is certified Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold.
Most traditional and older heritage properties are built using limestone and lime renders. They must not be painted with modern impermeable paints. It is imperative lime based walls are only coated with Graphenstone Breathable paints which are compatible with the original fabric of the building, allowing moisture to move through and evaporate safely. GCS Exterior is recommended on exterior and interior walls. Grafclean and Naturcolour are ideal on interior walls and ceilings.
Graphenstone breathable paints now include a wide choice of traditional and contemporary colours, often with soft matt or mineral‑matt finishes that suit both period homes and modern schemes. GCS Exterior and Grafclean are available in an extensive range of English Heritage and contemporary colour combinations. Naturcolour is available in popular contract trade colours. Ambient Pro+ is a pure lime paint available in pure brilliant white and absorbs CO2 and other airborne toxins.
Pigments and formulations are designed to remain colourfast while still maintaining low SD values, so you can achieve characterful, durable decoration without sacrificing breathability.
Graphenstone breathable paints have been independently tested to fire regulation standards for added building safety. Ambient Pro+ (A1) and GCS Exterior (A2-s1, d0) are certified non combustible. Grafclean and Naturcolour do not support the spread of flame rated (B-s1, d0).
